3 Year Old Kinder

Our 3-year-old Kindergarten accommodates up to 15 children daily, aged 3 years to 4 years, is led by a registered Early Childhood Teacher, who works alongside two support educators 5 days a week during school term. Outside of these hours the team continue to run the room and program allowing working families to access care throughout the school holidays.

The 3- and 4-year-old Kindergarten work closely together at Highgate Early Learning Centre, sharing a bathroom and large outdoor space. Additionally, the groups also enjoy major excursions together and often gather together for ad hoc visits from external providers (formally incursions). This close relationship is beneficial for new 3-year-old-kindergarten children as they are able to watch their peers capably navigate challenging situations and learn about group participation.

During the 3-year-old Kindergarten year, children begin to develop Kinder skills such as extending their concentration, turn taking and extending their social skills. This is achieved through formal group times, short term project work and a play-based curriculum supported by our large team of teachers/educators.

In addition to well thought out activities based on the children interest for the children to engage in and intentional teaching moments with the group. The 3-year-old children have the benefit of many fun activities including our music program with Benson from Musical Minds.
