Family involvement

Community and connection are what makes our service a unique and special early learning centre. Together, our past and present families and staff form a special Highgate family. We encourage every family to be as involved as possible in connecting with and contributing to the Centre. 


As part of Highgate Early Learning Centre’s commitment to being a “Child Safe community and organisation” we encourage parents and other family members who would like to contribute to our programs and activities (including attending excursions) to get a Working with Children Check (WWCC) as this is something we require.

Planting a Tree

Below are a few ways to get involved:

  • Join our Committee of Management and have a say in the future of our Centre

  • Help at working bees. 

  • Assist us with Special Projects 

  • Assist on an excursion 

  • Share any skills or expertise that you may have with the children

  • Share your culture, experiences and knowledge with educators and children

  • Contribute ideas and resources for programs

  • Attend Information evenings

  • Attend social events

  • Contribute to the review of the Centre’s Philosophy

  • Develop or review policies

  • Provide feedback for quality improvement

  • Communicate regularly with educators about your children
